Howdy, very cool web cam to check out. It is a live Owl in a nest box with eggs. Bonus points to anyone who can tell me how many eggs are there and when the expected hatch date is. Scribner

Sorry we were gone so long...
Hi Concepts folks,
We have been neglecting our Blog duties--must have been the snow blindness. Now that the weather seems promising we are going to try to get back at it.
Lets hear three cheers for North Africa and the Middle East then on to Asia!
Remember Sunday is Pi day! Everyone needs to eat 22/7 of pie!
Camp Count Down: 66 days, 18 hours, 46 minutes
Peace, Scribner and S-P

Finals and quarterly tests
Howdy! Believe it or not we are almost to the half-way mark of the year. That means Midterm Exams for Algebra and Geometry and Quarterly tests for course 2 and 3.
Algebra will start their finals on Monday. Geometry will start on Wednesday.
We will be wrapping up our rock study with a test on Thursday next week. Also this next week we will start into the study of the rest of Africa.
Enjoy the warm weekend, Scribner and S-P

Haiti Earthquake
Take a few moments to connect our work on plate techtonics with current events. Go to the USGS site and search Haiti earthquake. There are some great maps showing the strike-slip fault that precipitated the quake and the subduction zones around the area between the Caribbean and North American plates.
Luckily for the low islands in the area a tsunami did not result.
Take a moment and send positive energy to the living things of the area. Especially the rescue workers who will attempt to save lives in the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere. Then give an extra hug to your own people tonight and be thankful for the blessings that surround us.

Howdy,
Nice to see the Sun Today!
Course 2 and 3 are starting chapter 7 today. Look for the chapter guide to be placed in math binders today. Organization tip: If your binder is overwhelming put chapter 6 work in your student file. New format: We are putting the calender on the chapter guide to help busy folks. Parent signature required.
Algebra folks have the test on Friday 1-. Look for the Practice test tomorrow.
Social Studies Groups are finishing up the study of Chapter 19 today with three days to study and get the information pulled together for the test on Friday.
